Public speaking is genuinely one of my favorite things to do. There’s nothing like sharing a life-changing truth and seeing it impact your audience. This isn’t about entertainment (though I am entertaining) but serving the listener.
My speaking experience includes writing conferences, adjunct teaching at a Bible college, podcasts, and countless sermons. Click here for some of my endorsements.
Strengths as a speaker:
Live events and preaching
I grew up in the church, so sometimes it feels like I’ve already heard every sermon ever given—twice. Perhaps that's why I have a passion for describing eternal truths with a fresh perspective. My messages are designed to challenge the mind and move the heart.
This two-minute clip “Are You Too Righteous?” is a good example:

Strengths as a speaker:
- I enjoy people and go the extra mile to connect.
- I’m equally comfortable speaking to a millionaire as a McDonald’s cook.
- I can explain complex things in a clear and memorable way.

As an author that has struggled and known both success and failure, I love encouraging and speaking to other writers. And as a writing coach, I’m able to offer valuable insights to anyone who asks.
Podcasts and interviews
I’ve been interviewed on dozens of radio programs, a couple TV shows, and several podcasts. I’m at my best speaking off the cuff and have been told I say interesting stuff (even a car parts podcast brought me back on, though I know nothing about cars). My sense of humor is dry, but people still laugh. And as a pastor-turned-bartender-turned-writer/ghostwriter with ADHD and dyslexia (and who once packed his family up in a minivan for an eight month and 40 state trip), I keep things interesting.
